This forum is for KSU students who are currently in the club(KSUPC) who are interested in attending Collegiates, an annual skydiving competition for fulltime(12 hours) college students, held about 2 or 3 days after christmas someplace warm. This year is it held near Houston, TX at SKydive Spaceland. The club  does fundraising to help pay for the trip and competition fees. Some things we do are cleaning up after games in Bramlege. Also, $5 from each first time jumper, S/L or tandem, goes into our collegiate fund. The university does give a small amount of financial assistance. All we ask of you( to share in the club funds) is that you need to be a member of the club in good standing(paid your dues and or gear rental, no outstanding balances, safe and responsible jumper) for at least one prior semester and be an active participating member, helping with fundraising and advertising, attend club meetings, and assisting around the dropzone, especially on first jump course days.

We are in the planning stages currently and need to know who is interested in going.  You have to have your A-license to compete. Compete in what you may ask? Competition is broken down into novice(25 to 100 jumps), advanced(100 to 299 jumps), and expert(300 plus). You can compete in accuracy, formation skydiving, and freefly formation skydiving. There is also a speed formation building competition where 6 jumpers try to build a formation quickly, time starting when they leave the plane.

We are also working on fundraising opportunities currently as we think we have a good size group going and will need more funds to help cover expenses. If you have ideas and/or are interesting in participating to help raise funds, please let us know.

Blue skies!!
